چکیده
Self-incompatibility (SI) is a common strategy to avoid inbreeding and, consequently, keep genetic diversity within species. In its mechanism, pollen rejection happens in the style when single multiallelic locus (SFB prunus species) of haploid matches one S-alleles existing diploid pistil. The SFB gene for S has been identified many Prunus However, Japanese apricot species with typical gametophytic self-incompatibility (GSI), and alleles available are limited, although they required studying GSI. Therefore, we used an AS-PCR amplification method, sequencing, pair primers SFB-C1F Pm-Vb designed based on conserved region identify genotypes 48 (P. mume) accessions. Eleven novel were isolated from these accessions shared structural features other These uniquely expressed pollen. Hence, concluded that 11 PmSFB determinants P. mume. This current study offers genes mume locus, which could be useful potential resource studies SI mechanisms.

Isolation and identification of new pollen-specific SFB genes in Japanese apricot (Prunus mume).
SFB, a candidate gene for the pollen S gene, has been identified in several species of Prunus (Rosaceae). We isolated 5 new SFB alleles from 6 Japanese apricot (Prunus mume) lines using a specific Prunus SFB primer pair (SFB-C1F and Pm-Vb), which was designed from conserved regions of Prunus SFB. The nucleotide sequences of these SFB genes were submitted to the GenBank database. The 5 new SFB a...
متن کاملMumefural, citric acid derivative improving blood fluidity from fruit-juice concentrate of Japanese apricot (Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc).
The effects of food components on blood fluidity were studied by in vitro assay using a dedicated microchannel instrument for model capillaries. We found that the fruit-juice concentrate of the Japanese apricot (Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc), a traditional Japanese food, markedly improved the fluidity of human blood. Using HPLC, we isolated the active compounds and characterized them using UV, MS,...
متن کاملEffects of New Dietary Fiber from Japanese Apricot (Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc.) on Gut Function and Intestinal Microflora in Adult Mice
Much attention has been focused recently on functional foods. Ume, the Japanese name for the apricot of Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc., is an example of a Japanese traditional functional food. There are, however, few reports on the effects of fiber from this fruit on bowel function. With this objective, we prepared ume fiber to test the hypothesis that it can change gut function and intestinal flor...
متن کاملIsolation and Role of PmRGL2 in GA-mediated Floral Bud Dormancy Release in Japanese Apricot (Prunus mume Siebold et Zucc.)
Bud dormancy release is regulated by gibberellins (GAs). DELLA proteins are highly conserved and act as negative regulators in GA signaling pathway. The present study established a relationship between PmRGL2 in Japanese apricot and GA4 levels during dormancy release of floral buds. Overexpression of PmRGL2 in poplar delayed the onset of bud dormancy and resulted in dwarf plants, relative to wi...
متن کاملMolecular Characterization of a Novel Species of Capillovirus from Japanese Apricot (Prunus mume).
With the increased use of high-throughput sequencing methods, new viruses infecting Prunus spp. are being discovered and characterized, especially in the family Betaflexiviridae. Double-stranded RNAs from symptomatic leaves of a Japanese apricot (Prunusmume) tree from Japan were purified and analyzed by Illumina sequencing. Blast comparisons of reconstructed contigs showed that the P. mume samp...
